This creamy vanilla matcha smoothie combines the calming benefits of matcha with the natural sweetness of vanilla for a refreshing and nutrient-packed start to your day. Perfect for a morning boost or an afternoon pick-me-up!

Ingredients (Serves 1)

  • 1 tsp matcha powder (ceremonial or culinary grade)
  • 1/2 frozen banana (for natural sweetness and creaminess)
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk (or preferred milk)
  • 1/4 cup coconut yogurt (plain or vanilla-flavored)
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract (or seeds from 1/4 vanilla bean)
  • 1 tbsp almond butter or cashew butter (optional for added creaminess and protein)
  • 1 tsp honey or maple syrup (optional, to taste)
  • Ice cubes (for a thicker consistency)

Directions

  1. Prepare Matcha: Sift matcha powder to avoid clumping, then whisk with a few tablespoons of warm water until smooth.
  2. Blend: Combine the prepared matcha, frozen banana, almond milk, coconut yogurt, vanilla, nut butter (if using), honey/maple syrup, and ice cubes in a blender.
  3. Blend: Blend until smooth and creamy. Adjust consistency with more almond milk if needed.
  4. Serve: Pour into a glass and garnish with a sprinkle of matcha powder or shredded coconut.
